About Us

Our mission is helping people from all ages who are suffering from neurological deficits to achieve measurable recoveries, and to do this also for patients who have been told no further recovery is possible. STEPS uses new technologies with the aim of improving patient outcome, considering current trends, finding potential solutions for an optimal integration of robotic devices. All this without ever forgetting the importance of personal therapy and contact as well. Being a clinic of the present and the future we provide our patients with an increased quality of treatment, effectively and efficiently. By organizing tailor made therapy and optimizing resources and infrastructure, we aim to be an innovative care provider committed to providing better patient outcomes.

Philosophy

Rehabilitation requires the services of multiple healthcare providers who possess unique skills, training, and expertise that are working for the restoration of the patients’ function and their most optimal integration into all aspects of life. Robot-mediated neurorehabilitation seeks to incorporate advances in robotics combined with neuroscience and rehabilitation to define new methods for treating problems related with neurological diseases. The main patient groups served by the rehabilitation are people suffering from cerebral palsy, stroke patients, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, degenerative neurological diseases, people with severe single- incident brain injury, spinal injury, amputees, musculoskeletal disability, and other neuromuscular conditions. Robotic technology offers considerable benefits, not only in terms of training program implementation, but also allows quantifying objectively the amount and quality of multisensory stimuli and measure patient outputs and outcomes (e.g., times, movements, coordination, and strength improvement). The need for rehabilitation and assistance for people with disabilities, means that robotic care and rehabilitation will play an important role in the years ahead
