The website  www.stepsbudapest.com  and www.stepsbudapest.hu (hereinafter “website”) are operated by STEPS Neurorehabilitációs Központ Kft, H-1153 Budapest, Pázmány Péter street 55-57 (hereinafter “STEPS” or “we“) on behalf of the STEPS Budapest Center for Robotic Rehabilitation. STEPS is responsible for the collection, processing and use of personal data, which are collected from or entered into by the visitors of the website (hereinafter “user” or “you”), and the compliance of the data processing with the applicable law.

we are committed to the highest privacy standards. We only collect data that is relevant to your ongoing care and is necessary for us to deliver the best possible service from our therapists. This policy provides detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it and the very limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others.

Collection of your Personal Information

In addition to your basic contact information (name, date of birth, telephone numbers and your addresses) we will collect other relevant details including current and past health and medication information, findings from assessments, payment details and lifestyle information. We may also store associated information received from other health care professionals as part of your ongoing care.

Contact form

Apart from this passive data acquisition and the hereinafter described data processing for advertising purposes, STEPS collects and processes personal data only if the user voluntarily forwards the personal data to STEPS, e.g. by email or contact form.

By communicating personal data to STEPS, the users agree that STEPS stores the data and processes it to answer questions, process requests, send the requested information or provide eventually requested services.

The legal basis for the processing of data voluntarily provided by the user lies in the consent pursuant to the Rules of GDPR . Users can object to this data processing at any time (see contact data below).

How we use this information

The information we collect about you is used to ensure we provide you with the best and most appropriate treatment. In addition to your ongoing rehabilitation, we may remind you when appointments are due or inform you of new services that we believe would be of interest. We use your contact information to respond to queries from you. We may occasionally contact you to ask for your feedback on services we have provided and to offer the opportunity to trial new treatments.

STEPS uses so-called re-targeting technologies on the website. In doing so, the user’s behaviour is analysed on the website in order to be able to subsequently offer individual tailored advertising to the user on the partner websites. The behaviour of the user is recorded pseudonymously.

Most of the re-targeting technologies work with cookies.

How and when we may share your Personal Information (Third Party transfer)

STEPS only discloses personal data from users if the user either has consented explicitly, a legal obligation therefore exists or if it is required for the enforcement of rights and claims of STEPS. Furthermore, Steps will pass on personal data from users to third parties as far as it is necessary in the context of the use of the website as well as the answering of questions, processing of inquiries or for the possible provision of services required by the user.

Where necessary we may disclose your information to health care professionals locally and abroad. We may also pass information to external agencies and organisations, including the police, for the prevention and detection of fraud and criminal activity. Should any claim be made, we may pass your personal information to our insurers and if our business is wholly or partially transferred to a third party, your personal information may be one of the transferred assets.

Your rights with respect to the Personal Information we hold

Users have the right, upon request and free of charge, to receive information about personal data stored by STEPS about the users.

In addition, users have the right to correct inaccurate data and to have their personal data deleted, insofar as this is not contrary to any statutory retention duty or any other legal basis that allows STEPS the processing of data.

In addition, users have the right to demand the release of the data they have provided to STEPS (right of data portability). Data retention

STEPS only stores personal data for as long as it is necessary to use the tracking services mentioned above and other processing in the context of our legitimate interest. Contract data is retained by STEPS for a longer period, as this is prescribed by legal retention obligations. Retention duties, which oblige STEPS to store data, result from regulations on accounting and tax legislation in Hungary. According to these regulations, business communications, contracts concluded and accounting records can be stored for up to 10 years or longer if needed. If STEPS no longer needs any such data to perform the services for the users, the data will be blocked. This means that the data may then exclusively be used for accounting and tax purposes.

Updating your communication preferences

You may ask that we do not send you communications using any of the contact details we hold on our records, this may include your email, SMS, telephone and postal information. You may also request we restrict our communications to clinically necessary messages. Your personal preferences can be changed at any time by using the contact information below.
